As forecast, the weather was horrible, with drifting snow and gale-force winds, so we have spent the whole day in the hut.

Seaman [Petty Officer] Evans is a jovial lad who improves on acquaintnce. Wright, Teddy Evans, Atkinson and I spent the afternoon yarning about everything under the sun.
